Lucky Star

I’ve tried to keep as much anime away from this blog as possible. But there are seriously some things that simply cannot be ignored. Lucky Star is one of them. This anime is wacky, insane, funny, cute, totally random. I love it. It’s about a few school girls, who go around doing high school girl-ish stuff. Boring? Not on your life. While I’ve heard mixed reviews, I await each new episode like a child looking at the candy jar. A lot of what makes the anime so much fun is the references to other series, not least of all The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi. Both series are done by the same studio, and between them, they hold the position for my most favourite anime of all time.

Edit: A word of warning. Some people have told me that new-comers to anime may not appreciate the series, as they won’t understand a lof of the jokes, sublte and otherwise, and that the series may put them off anime. So my advice to you is: go watch some good series, become an Anime connoisseur then come back and watch the series. You’ll love it.
