Your photos bring out the spirit and culture of Japan. Now I've got itchy feet - I need to travel! I gather that Japan is expensive? That said a friend says that its actually quite cheap (thought his wife is Japanese so he has an advantage). Is there anything you'd do differently if you could redo your trip? By the way, I love the wooden bath. We're about to renovate the bathroom and your photo (and rave review!) has got me thinking about building a japanese bath. Is it just a simple rectangular box, are is it angled? How thick are the sides? How do the corners join - do they just butt together or are they morticed? oh, and does it have caulking between the pieces of timber? Anyway, hope you continue having fun.
